The Coach House
Step into something slower, simpler, and thoughtfully made. Here, you will find quiet that stretches, space that breathes, and comfort that feels like home. Children have the freedom to roam, explore and play, while adults can relax in front of the wood fire, wander the grounds, or settle in with a good book from the Coach House library, knowing there is plenty of room and nothing pressing to worry about.
Tucked beneath the Western Tiers on working sheep property, the Coach House is a rare blend of heritage character and practical comfort. Originally built in the 1870s, The Coach House has been artfully restored to welcome families, friends, and travellers who value shared meals, fresh air, and time together.
Inside, you’ll find soaring timber beams, two crackling wood fires, a luxurious bathtub with views over the property and across to Mother Cummings Peak, and room for up to 14 guests across four distinct sleeping spaces. There are two private bedrooms, a mezzanine bedroom, plus a spacious bunk room with two oversized bunks, perfect for children, teens, or adventurous adults. The kitchen is modern, well-appointed, from the Paul Bocuse oven to the fully stocked spice cabinet, and designed to make feeding a crowd a pleasure, not a chore.
The living space flows out to a wide deck and extensive lawn where you can sit with a quiet drink or watch the children (or adults!) run wild. Step outside the Coach House and you’re already surrounded by fresh mountain air and open skies. If you are keen to stretch your legs without leaving the property, take a wander through The Park — our open parkland with towering Macrocarpas, colourful Beech trees, Chestnuts and old Oaks from the last century, framing views of Mother Cummings Peak, Mount Roland, Quamby Bluff and the rolling Chudleigh Valley.
If you’re keen to explore further, there’s plenty close at hand — from waterfall walks and wildlife encounters, to iconic national parks, to family run vineyards, cheese and ice-cream producers where their goods are made on the very ground their cows enjoy life. Whether you're travelling with kids, chasing big views, or just following your appetite, take a look at our favourite nearby experiences and recommendations:
